Fastnet Rovers was founded in 1988 with the establishment of the first senior team in Div. 3 of the Wexford Football League. Success quickly followed when Fastnet Rovers won the third division for the 88/89 season. The 89/90 season saw Fastnet Rovers promoted to Division 2 and again in the 90/91 season the club enjoyed promotion to the Premier Division and the establishment of a reserve senior team.
One of the club highlights occurred in the 98/99 season when Fastnet Rovers reached the final 16 of the Leinster Junior Cup.
